  All Day Canal Pride Days Saturday   This Saturday, The C&O Canal Trust, in partnership with the C&O Canal National Historical Park, is hosting our 5th annual Canal Pride Days! Our last event will be held at Oldtown/Lock 70. Volunteers will help revitalize and restore the park by participating in projects such as, painting, removing vegetation, replacing grills, and straightening bollards/waysides.
This event will help prep the area for the Battie-Mixon fishing rodeo, where thousands of kids come out to fish. Advanced registration is required at
  All Day FSU Event   May 3, 8PM The FSU Dept. of Music presents the FSU Percussion Ensemble in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center. This performance is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the FSU Department of Music at 301-687-4109.
  All Day Quilters Guild Exhibition   May 3-June 1 Schoolhouse Quilters Guild Exhibition, featuring artwork by members of the Schoolhouse Quilters Guild and the Creative Needles, presented in the Saville Gallery, 9 N. Centre Street. An opening reception for the exhibition will be held at the Saville Gallery on Saturday, May 5 from 5-8PM in conjunction with the Arts Walk in Downtown Cumberland. Gallery Hours are Monday through Friday, 9AM-5PM, and Saturday & Sunday, 11AM-4PM. Info: 301-777-ARTS (2787).

C&O Canal Pride Days is the largest volunteer event in the park and is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and show pride for our neighborhood national park while raising awareness of its ongoing stewardship needs.
