This Saturday, The C&O Canal Trust, in partnership with the C&O Canal National Historical Park, is hosting our 5th annual Canal Pride Days! Our last event will be held at Oldtown/Lock 70. Volunteers will help revitalize and restore the park by participating in projects such as, painting, removing vegetation, replacing grills, and straightening bollards/waysides. This event will help prep the area for the Battie-Mixon fishing rodeo, where thousands of kids come out to fish. Advanced registration is required at www.Canaltrust.org.

Quilters Guild Exhibition
May 3-June 1 Schoolhouse Quilters Guild Exhibition, featuring artwork by members of the Schoolhouse Quilters Guild and the Creative Needles, presented in the Saville Gallery, 9 N. Centre Street. An opening reception for the exhibition will be held at the Saville Gallery on Saturday, May 5 from 5-8PM in conjunction with the Arts Walk in Downtown Cumberland. C&O Canal Pride Days 2012 - Oldtown/Lock 70 May 5th: 9am-12pm Join us for the 5th annual C&O Canal Pride Days this Saturday! C&O Canal Pride Days is the largest volunteer event in the park and is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and show pride for our neighborhood national park while raising awareness of its ongoing stewardship needs.
